Hat Events ~ Love ‘em or Hate ‘em!

Image
The love-hate relationship players have with Hat Events presents an interesting conundrum. Hat Events include a Hat Adventure which is a special set of 10 levels that require you own specific hats in order to play. Only the birds in your flock that posses the event hat may participate. Every few levels there are rewards such as Rare Chests, Legendary Chests, and Rainbow Feathers. During an event there is a freeze on purchasing any hats in the event set. The only way to obtain the hats is in the Tower of Fortune. Red’s hat is on the 5th floor, Blue’s is on the 10th floor, Chuck on the 20th floor, Bomb on 30th, Matilda on 40th, Silver on 50th, and Terence on the 55th floor. Most players don’t get past floor 20 in the ToF. Those that do are usually spending quite a few gems to get there. This is a big part of the ‘hate’. We will come back to that... There are two types of Hat Events. The first uses existing hat sets, usually at or below the Magical Level (4x). This type of event will...

Rovio’s Response to September 2019 Glitches

Image
Rovio released a new update on 9/15/2019 with a very vague description. Mainly they were “just cleaning up around the nest”. This will become a forced update, meaning you will have to update the game to continue playing. Apple updates are released before Android, and Windows is on a different platform that isn’t linked to the other two. The hope was, issues like missing shuffle buttons and four hour common chests would be restored, but to no avail. Many players have reported the Hat Shop Chest has returned but some are still missing. So we are not entirely sure if this is a Rovio support thing or more of a sweeping update thing. One thing we do know for sure is Extra Birds that have remained locked in exile are forced to unlock.  Players that had kept Hal and/or Leonard locked suddenly found themselves with two new birds. The birds unlocked at minimum card levels since feathers were not required to unlock them. Clone accounts are a raging problem and they seem to appear in drov...

Current ‘Glitches’ September 2019

Image
In preparation for the new movie release Rovio released new updates, which included the Leonard Unlocking Event. Almost immediately and even still players began reporting inconsistencies in the game. According to the Angry Birds 2 Gamers Fan-Page https://www.facebook.com/AB2GamersPage/  here is a current list of the most reported issues:      1. Common Chests At Different Intervals ~ Typically players receive a free Common Chest every 30 minutes. The 30 minutes resets once you have finished opening the chest and watching any videos. Multiple players are now experiencing a 2 hour wait. This can drastically reduce the free gems, black pearls, spells, and feathers a player can collect. I know I pop into the game frequently throughout the day solely to check the Common Chest. I always break while playing to open the Common Chest as soon as it’s available as well. This ensures I collect maximum free rewards!      2. Pearl Chest Missing In The Hat Shop...

Leonard’s Release: To Unlock or Not to Unlock

Image
Leonard is the newest member of the flock. You may have noticed, he’s a pig. August 2019 marks the first pig ever to join the flock and it looks like he is here to stay. At least for now. Leonard’s most notable contribution is his ability to shoot snot wads out of his face. You get 3 snot shots. A shot is deployed by tapping your finger on the screen. He will no longer deploy once his body hits something. There is a little white arrow off the tip of his nose to indicate the flight path of the snot wads. The force of each snotty shot sends Leonard spinning in a circle while traveling away from his last shot. This can make accuracy extremely challenging. If you aren’t much of a marksman don’t fret! Leonard can also be used like a snotty boulder, eliciting Terence level destruction, complete with snot splatter effect. Now that you have met Leonard you must decide if you will unlock this Extra Bird or leave him locked in exile. Here are a few things to consider. Now that original  ...
