Daily Challenge Streaks

On October 21, 2019 Rovio introduced a new feature in the Daily Challenge, the Daily Challenge Streak. I mentioned it in the Rovio Rumble~October Updates but was so wrapped up in the Rowdy Rumble I forgot to talk about the Streak. So, it gets its own, dedicated article, with all the information I could find thus far.
Streaks are obtained with consecutive wins in the Daily Challenge, each win yields a bonus reward from the Streak. There’s a catch, you knew there would be, all DCs must be completed on the first attempt to continue the Streak. If you are unable to complete the DC on your first try the Streak will be broken and start back at level 1, just like Arena Streaks. The Streak will not be broken if you skip playing the Daily Challenge all together.
There are two sets of DC rewards currently circulating; 1,000 feathers, 100 Black Pearls, 3 spells, 1 Rare Chest, and # of apples (the number depends on your level of hatchling) OR 400 feathers, 30 Black Pearls, 1 spell, 1 Rare Chest, and # of apples. The rewards for the Streak are as follows:
An interesting new feature that slipped in with the DC Streak is an increasing cost for extra bird cards. Oh sure, if you are in a level and need extra cards you pay 60 gems for three cards and it will increase for the next set of three. Well, now, for some but apparently not all players, as you climb the DC Streak, so will the initial cost of your extra bird cards. Some lucky players still have the original extra bird card cost of 60 gems regardless of where they are in the Streak.
Level 1 = 60 gems                              Level 2 = 120 gems                         Level 3 = 180 gems
Level 4 = 240 gems          Level 5 = 300 gems          Level 6 = 360 gems         Level 7 = 420 gems
These may not be completely accurate figures. I couldn’t find the player who had listed this in a chat group so I am going by memory. I will update it if it’s inaccurate as soon as I have the correct figures, this will give you an idea of cost. Basically, if you pay at every level to continue the Streak you are looking at 1,680 gems total. Considering it costs 900 gems to purchase a Legendary Chest outright it is not worth it to spend the gems on the Streak. Now, if you’ve managed to make it to the last level without spending any gems, and you want to pay 420 gems for the extra cards, know you are getting
a 50% off deal on a LC. Just make sure you can finish it with the three cards! For most it doesn’t make sense to pay and continue the Streak. It is not a reason to quit playing the Daily Challenge. Just play as you always have and consider the Streak a bonus should you make consecutive wins. I have noticed there are apples and gifts for friends more often on repeat plays than there have been in the past.
One thing a player pointed out is the Streak continues as long as you play and win the first room. You don’t actually have to beat the King Pig to keep the Streak going. It will not advance the Streak. This is handy if there’s a day you are short on playing time, especially if you have been climbing the Streak. Go in, complete room 1 and win with one life, continue the Streak and collect your gems from the Daily Quest. You don’t earn the Daily Challenge rewards but you keep the Streak going. If you skip playing all together you will still be on the same bulb you were on the last time you played.
Those that have managed to complete the Daily Challenge Streak have all reported having to spend gems at some point and most didn’t feel the rewards justified the expense. My recommendation is to play the Daily Challenge like there is no Streak and keep your gems in the bank!
Best of luck streaking!! Be sure to share your pics!
                                                             Cheers & Happy Flinging!
