Gem Hoarding Part 2

Image
Welcome back! This is the second half of the Gem Hoarding  series. If you haven’t already, check out Part 1 for info on the Daily Challenge and King Pig Panic, Map, Clan Events, and the Tower of Fortune. Part 2 covered MEBC, Spells, Hatchling Events, Rowdy Rumble, and the Arena. The Arena is a place to earn big rewards, even more so during Feather Frenzies, Black Pearl Parties, and Super Streak Weeks. Many times you can progress pretty far into the streak without using any gems. As you get closer to the end of a streak the chances of forking over some pink rock increases. Now, if one 60 gem buy in will finish off a streak it makes sense to spend the gems. If you need multiple buys ins just pass. Shake your fist at the game and start a new streak. Best way to avoid having to spend in the Arena is to bank your spells. Spells should be used for Clan Events and Arena, that’s all. Playing Arena one week on, one off, gives you a chance to bank spells and tickets when you are low or have

New MEBC Leaderboard

February 2020 marks another major Angry Birds 2 update! This includes a change to Mighty Eagle’s Boot Camp, one that many players have been requesting for some time. There is a new leaderboard system in MEBC. Used to be top 100 players for the day, top 100 players for the season, and top 100 clans. Now the three leaderboards are labeled ‘Local’, ‘Global’, and ‘Top Clans’. Top Clans is business as usual and Global is essentially the same as the top 100 players. The new feature is the Local leaderboard. Players are grouped together by flock power size to compete for additional MEBC coins. Only the top 50 earn extra coin. I’m guessing this is top 50 out of 100 players but I’m not sure yet. (I’ll have to bomb a day to place in the bottom so I can find out.) It appears this side competition will have no affect on frames. This means the frame system is probably remaining the same. At the end of the MEBC season the frames will all reset, just as they have in the past. There are two ad

New Clan Battle Scoring

The fourth Clan vs Clan Battle utilizing the new scoring system has ended. What does everyone think? I think it’s great! This new system is purely skill based, in theory... Shall we dissect that theory a bit? Previous scoring system allotted a set number of eggs (or points) per position on the scoreboard. When players changed position on the leaderboard both team scores could fluctuate. The top 15-20 players determined battle outcomes. Many clans adopted dummy flocks to improve matchups. Since the bottom part of a clan scored 1-5 eggs, the 10 eggs missed by a clan with 10 dummies didn’t affect the overall outcome. All that has changed! Under the new system eggs are awarded per millions of points in a players score. This means a score of 68,000,000 in battle would earn 68 eggs. One really cool thing I’ve noticed is a score of 68,531,540 earns 69 eggs. The system rounds up. It’s important to note, when a player increases their score it will not reduce the score of others in their c
