Clan Leadership ~ Part 1: Establishing Rules

Image
Duties for clan leadership will depend heavily on the level of competitiveness in which you wish to play. Leaders of clans chasing a top 100 MEBC position will typically be much more involved than leaders of more laid back clans. We are going to review the different things leaders do to help create and grow successful clans. This is part one of a series. There are many things to consider as a clan leader and part one discusses establishing clan rules. It doesn’t matter if you are just starting out or if you’ve been doing it for a long time, you should hopefully find something to help your clan. As the leader, you set the tone. If you want a competitive clan, rules need to be established and enforced. A more laid back approach doesn’t always mean you aren’t competitive. Based on experiences of other leaders, it is very difficult to consistently complete point challenges and win battles if half the players in the clan are inactive. This includes players that only come into the game...

https://www.facebook.com/groups/StellaIsGreat/?ref=share I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the Extra Bird Support Groups. Since the pandemonium of the #ExtraBirdChallenge has subsided, what better time to learn how to use our Extra Birds. Many of us may have one or two that we are not quite sure how to use. Maybe you’ve got them figured out but need some new ideas on creative shots. If you have a nemesis bird consider joining one of the Face Book Support Groups. There are videos and chats on how to best use the birds. Some of the videos are from the top Flingers in the game and are really impressive. Swing by and check it out! Join in on the chatter. Upload your tricky videos and show your stuff! Don’t be shy!                                                          Good Luck & Happy Flinging!   ...

#ExtraBirdChallenge

Image
Mighty Eagle’s Boot Camp has turned into a hackers practical joke. Top spots are riddled with clones and barely full flocks. It is impossible for players with lower FP to compete with players well above 1,000 FP. There are many things gumming up the works and players are up in arms. Rovio’s response to the problem is the #ExtraBirdChallenge. It is the first real attempt at leveling the playing field in MEBC. The two biggest changes are the removal of the destructometer and having access to your entire flock. Removing the destructometer really has had the biggest impact on game play. This means there is no bird card rejuvenation. You are given 11 bird cards to start the MEBC round, one of each. I did receive a golden pig, which would instantly fill the destructometer and supply an extra card, but nope, not now! No destructometer means the golden pig is only a shiny thing used to distract you from your score. The idea behind the change is that every player is given the same numbe...

Daily Challenge Streaks

Image
On October 21, 2019 Rovio introduced a new feature in the Daily Challenge, the Daily Challenge Streak. I mentioned it in the Rovio Rumble~October Updates but was so wrapped up in the Rowdy Rumble I forgot to talk about the Streak. So, it gets its own, dedicated article, with all the information I could find thus far. Streaks are obtained with consecutive wins in the Daily Challenge, each win yields a bonus reward from the Streak. There’s a catch, you knew there would be, all DCs must be completed on the first attempt to continue the Streak. If you are unable to complete the DC on your first try the Streak will be broken and start back at level 1, just like Arena Streaks. The Streak will not be broken if you skip playing the Daily Challenge all together. There are two sets of DC rewards currently circulating; 1,000 feathers, 100 Black Pearls, 3 spells, 1 Rare Chest, and # of apples (the number depends on your level of hatchling) OR 400 feathers, 30 Black Pearls, 1 spell, 1 Rare Che...

Rovio Rumble ~ October Updates

Image
After more than a week without so much as a hint at a battle we all started wondering..... where, oh where, had our clan battles gone? Apparently put on hold while Rovio prepared some massive game updates. On October 21, 2019 a new update was released that included the new Daily Challenge streak and the Rowdy Rumble Tournament. The jury is still out on what we think of the new features, preliminary reports aren’t positive. Stay tuned to Lil Bugs Corner for an in-depth look soon. What the update didn’t mention is the drastic change to extra birds. For a while now players have been reporting extra birds staying open for 12-24 hours then sleeping for 24 hours. It seems this was a test run for our new update. We also saw a force unlock of all extra birds after the last update in September. Extra birds just unlocked with a FP in the twenties. All of this was leading up to the never sleeping extra birds. You read that right, the extra birds don’t sleep anymore. We can now toggle between ...

Hat Events ~ Love ‘em or Hate ‘em!

Image
The love-hate relationship players have with Hat Events presents an interesting conundrum. Hat Events include a Hat Adventure which is a special set of 10 levels that require you own specific hats in order to play. Only the birds in your flock that posses the event hat may participate. Every few levels there are rewards such as Rare Chests, Legendary Chests, and Rainbow Feathers. During an event there is a freeze on purchasing any hats in the event set. The only way to obtain the hats is in the Tower of Fortune. Red’s hat is on the 5th floor, Blue’s is on the 10th floor, Chuck on the 20th floor, Bomb on 30th, Matilda on 40th, Silver on 50th, and Terence on the 55th floor. Most players don’t get past floor 20 in the ToF. Those that do are usually spending quite a few gems to get there. This is a big part of the ‘hate’. We will come back to that... There are two types of Hat Events. The first uses existing hat sets, usually at or below the Magical Level (4x). This type of event will...
